New · Raspberry Pi

Your own IPTV box, ready in a minute

Super Nova for Raspberry Pi is a complete, ultra-light system: insert the microSD, connect the Pi to your TV and a few seconds later you're on the home screen. No desktop, no windows, nothing to configure: just Super Nova, full screen.

  • Turns on like an appliance: boots straight into Super Nova in kiosk mode
  • Pick your Wi-Fi on screen with the remote: networks are remembered and the Pi reconnects on its own
  • The remote you already have: your TV remote via HDMI-CEC (if your TV supports it), an infrared receiver, a keyboard or an air mouse
  • Smooth HD video with hardware decoding and the same player design as every other version
  • Built-in network test: check the Internet and your provider's server in one click
  • Blackout-proof: the system is read-only, unplug it whenever you like

Tested on Raspberry Pi 3 B+. Write to us and we'll reply with all the details to get the image ready to write to a microSD, or a ready-to-use microSD.

Light and fast

Huge lists? No problem.

Most players choke on playlists with tens of thousands of channels. Super Nova was designed the other way round: speed first.

Draws only what you see

Even with 50,000 items, only a few dozen elements are on screen: rows and posters are created and loaded only when needed.

Opens instantly

Your playlist is saved on the device: at launch the catalog is ready, without downloading everything again.

Tiny footprint

About 2.2 MB on Android: installs in a moment and runs smoothly even on budget boxes and older TVs.

Respects your subscription

One connection at a time, automatic reconnection without hammering the server: no bans from your provider.

FAQ

Good to know

Does the app include channels or movies?

No. Super Nova IPTV is a player: it does not provide, sell or suggest any content. It only plays the playlist or account you enter, provided by your own service.

Which devices does it run on?

Android phones and tablets (Android 8.0+), Android TV, Google TV and TV boxes, Fire TV with Vega OS, Samsung Smart TVs with Tizen (2017 and later) and Raspberry Pi.

Which Fire TV devices are supported?

Fire TV devices with the new Vega OS, such as Fire TV Stick 4K Select. The Fire TV version is coming to the Amazon Appstore.

How do I get the Raspberry Pi version?

Email us at ginphreak@proton.me and we'll reply with the options and details. You can get the image to write to a microSD or a ready-to-use microSD, even with your Wi-Fi network and your source already configured.

What do I need for the Raspberry Pi version?

A Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with its power supply, a microSD card and an HDMI cable. To control it, use your TV remote (if it supports HDMI-CEC), a small infrared receiver, a keyboard or an air mouse.

Does it work with very large lists?

Yes. It has been tested with 50,000-item playlists: the list opens in just over a second and browsing stays smooth, because the app only loads what is on screen.

Which formats are supported?

M3U/M3U8 playlists and Xtream Codes accounts. For video: HLS (m3u8), MPEG-TS, MP4 and any other format supported by your device.

My subscription allows only one connection: is that OK?

Yes. The app opens a single video stream at a time, closes it when you leave the player or switch apps, and never hammers the server if it refuses.

Which languages are available?

English, Italian, Spanish, French and German. The language is picked automatically from your device and can be changed in the settings.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Your source, favorites and watch progress stay on your device. No ads, no analytics.
